Flames Open February Home Schedule Against Aces

2/3/2023 1:09:00 PM

CHICAGO – The UIC men's basketball team (9-15, 1-12 MVC) returns home to Credit Union 1 Arena Saturday, as it welcomes Evansville to Chicago for the first time since 2011. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. CT.

MATCHUP BREAKDOWN
  • The Flames and Aces are set to meet for the seventh time in series history Saturday, with the Flames holding a decided 5-1 advantage all-time. The Flames have won the last four contests, dating back to 2003.
  • Both programs have struggled to find the win column this season, as the Flames (11th) and Aces (12th) both sit at the bottom of the MVC standings.
  • While ranking last in the conference in team field goal percentage coming into play Wednesday, the Aces shoot the three pointer surprisingly well, ranking seventh in the MVC entering Wednesday, making 32.9 percent of their three point attempts.

LUCKY 100
  • Tre Anderson appeared in his 100th career game in Wednesday's road overtime loss to Illinois State.
  • The graduate student didn't waste the moment, netting a new season-high 29 points, just three points shy of his career high of 32, to go along with four rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
  • Anderson's six made three-pointers was the most in a single game for UIC since Jamie Ahale made eight against Oakland on Dec. 19, 2020

Saturday's 1:00 p.m. tip-off can be seen live on ESPN+, and a live audio feed is available on the Flames Network with the Voice of the Flames Jonathan Hood, and Flames Hall of Famer Kenny Williams. The UIC athletics department will welcome over 100 high school band members to Saturday's game as part of High School Band Day, with several area schools represented.
