Women's Tennis to Close Out Regular Season This Weekend

The Flames Take on DePaul in a Non-Conference Match

CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (10-9, 4-3 MVC) will close out their regular season this weekend with two home matches. The first is a non-conference contest against DePaul on Friday, following a final Missouri Valley Conference match-up with Missouri State on Sunday.

The Flames are coming off a dominating win over Bradley, shutting them out 7-0. Multiple UIC players are on a hot streak, including Agnes Gustafsson at No. 1 singles, Ana Jover at No. 4 singles, and at No. 6 singles, Paula Rodriguez Gregoris.

SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul comes into Friday's match with an overall record of 11-8 and 6-1 in the Big East conference. The Flames and Blue Demons have competed five times before, the first time being in 2000. Currently, DePaul is winning the overall series between the two teams.

SCOUTING MISSOURI STATE
Missouri State, a member of the MVC is 1-5 in league play, and 6-14 overall. Their only conference win was against Northern Iowa. A pair on the Bears' roster, Diana Cabrera and Alyson Piskulic, won doubles team of the week from the MVC (Mar. 15). Sunday's contest will be the start of a new series, as this will be the first time the Flames and Bears cross paths.

The Flames' match against the Blue Demons on Friday, April 14 will start at 10 a.m. at the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts. The details surrounding Sunday's match is still to determined, depending on the weather. There will be a brief ceremony honoring the graduates on the team.
