CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (12-9, 5-3 MVC) is on a three-match win streak after defeating Missouri State (7-15, 2-6 MVC) at home on Sunday. This latest league win gives the Flames positive momentum going into the Missouri Valley Conference Championship next week.
DOUBLES:
- Agnes Gustafsson and Ana Jover beat Diana Cabrera and Alyson Piskulic of Missouri State 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. The two are on a three-match win streak together on the number one court. Gustafsson and Jover have won the majority of the times they have teamed up (10 out of 15 matches).
- Natalia Nikolopoulou and Paula Rodriguez Gregoris secured the doubles point for UIC at No. 3, beating Silva Avakian and Tiera Jarmond 6-2.
- Tamara Malazonia and Cora-Lynn von Dungern added to that with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, beating Missouri State's Mary Houston and Juliette Robinson.
SINGLES:
- Natalia Nikolopoulou cruised to an easy 6-1, 6-0 victory on court two. The win adds to her three-match win streak, putting her overall record at 20-9 and conference at 7-1. Nikolopoulou has won nine of her last ten matches at singles positions three or two.
- Ana Jover kept the pressure on at No. 4 singles, outscoring her opponent 6-1, 6-3. Jover is on a win streak of her own, coming out victorious in four matches in a row.
- Paula Rodriguez Gregoris brought the Flames to a comfortable position by putting the team ahead 4-0. She won at No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-0.
- A 6-3, 6-4 victory on court one makes it four in a row for Agnes Gustafsson at No. 1 singles, putting her overall record at 15-10.
- Mary Houston put a point on the board for the Bears, beating Tamara Malazonia 7-6 (2), 6-2.
- Cora-Lynn von Dungern came out on the right side of an intense battle at No. 5 singles, improving her overall record to 13-10.

The Flames will now prepare for their conference championship in Normal, Ill., hosted by Illinois State. UIC claimed the
fourth seed and will take on #5 Murray State on Friday, April 21 at 10 a.m. in the quarterfinals match. Matches will be played at the Gregory Street Tennis Courts. Information on the MVC Championship can be
