ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Missouri Valley Conference released its weekly baseball awards Monday afternoon, and UIC second baseman Ryan Nagelbach was named the conference's Player of the Week.

The Deerfield, Ill. native helped propel the Flames to a series sweep over Illinois State over the weekend, driving in 11 runs in the three-game series, with four of his five hits being home runs. Also reaching twice on walks, the junior jumped his batting average .015 points on the weekend. He tallied 17 total bases in his 15 at bats on the week.

The Flames will close out their regular season schedule this weekend, as they host Evansville for a three-game series at Curtis Granderson Stadium, beginning Thursday night. UIC currently owns the fifth-longest active winning streak in the country at seven games, dating back to the first game of its series against Belmont on May 5. First pitch in Thursday's series-opener is set for 6 p.m. CT.
