CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball staff will sport a new look for the 2023-24 season as head coach Ashleen Bracey announced on Wednesday the promotion of Remy Lory to Assistant Coach.

"I am so excited to announce that we have promoted Remy to Assistant Coach. Remy has impacted our program in so many ways over the course this past season and I felt he was incredibly deserving of the opportunity," said Bracey.

Lory joined the program in May 2022 as the Director of Scouting for the women's basketball team, making significant contributions to UIC's impressive 19-win season in 2022-23. Lory utilized his strong interpersonal skills to lead the Flames' recruiting efforts for the incoming class.

"When I hired Remy a year ago as Director of Scouting, I knew I was getting a steal and it would not take him long to make his imprint," Bracey added. "Remy has played a pivotal role in our 2023 signing class and has elevated our staff on and off the court. He is a team player, committed to our vision, and has an unmatched work ethic. I am very proud of him, and I look forward to what is to come for the Flames."

Prior to his time at UIC, Lory spent five years on the staff at Central Methodist University, where he played a pivotal role in transforming CMU into an NAIA powerhouse. As the primary recruiter, he was instrumental in the Eagles' success, which included Elite Eight and Final Four appearances, leading CMU to a 123-34 record throughout his tenure.

Before his tenure at CMU, Lory served as an assistant coach at Arizona Western College, a junior college. During his time in Arizona, he played a key role in guiding the team to a runner-up finish in their NJCAA region and developing two players into Division I prospects.

Lory is a 2016 graduate of Southeastern University, where he studied Sports Management. In 2019, he earned his Master's in Education from Central Methodist.

Lory is one of three offseason changes to the Flames' coaching staff. Stay tuned for further updates on the team's expanding staff.
