Flames Continue Road Trip With Another Chicagoland Opponent

CHICAGO (Sept. 8, 2023) – The UIC men's soccer team (4-0-1) will take on its second consecutive cross-town rival on Monday night, as the Flames will travel to Northwestern (4-0-1) for a 7:00 p.m. CT kick-off.

FLAMES FACTS
  • The Flames enter the new week with a 4-0-1 overall record on the season, the team's best start to a season since starting the 2008 season 7-0-2.
  • UIC ranks 13th in the NCAA in scoring offense, as it averages 2.50 goals per game, a mark that ranks first in the Missouri Valley Conference.
  • After scoring the opening goal of Friday's 2-1 victory over Loyola, Jesus De Vicente (Casas Bajas, Spain) has catapulted into a tie for the team lead in points with seven. De Vicente has at least an assist in each of the four matches he has played in this season (missed Wisconsin match due to injury).
  • Oren Asher (Hetzliya, Israel / Rutgers) has played every minute of the season in net for the Flames this season, making 17 saves and allowing just four goals.
 
The Wildcats also enter the match unbeaten, with an identical 4-0-1 record to UIC. Monday night's meeting will be the 27th all-time meeting between UIC and Northwestern. The Flames lead the all-time series 14-10-2.
