Men's Tennis Completes Action at Bellarmine Invitational

Senior Randy Wilson won all three singles matches over two-day event

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 23, 2023) – The UIC men's tennis program wrapped up competition at the Bellarmine Invitational Saturday. The Flames competed against host Bellarmine, Chicago State and Eastern Illinois as part of the hidden dual format. The two-day invitational took place at the Eddie Webber Tennis Complex.
 
Senior Randy Wilson (Miami, Fla./Florida Gulf Coast) won all three of his matches Friday and Saturday while senior Gustavo Schwebel (Salvador, Brazil/Colegio Antonio Vieira) won two of his three singles matches.
 
In doubles competition, UIC's doubles team of Schwebel and Edoardo Bottino (Genoa, Italy/Queens University) won both of its matches.

"We competed very hard and this was a great test to see how we improved since the beginning of the school year. We look forward to getting back to work at practice and preparing for our remaining competitions of the fall season."

SINGLES: Doubles: UP NEXT
  • The Flames are off until next Saturday when select individuals will compete at the ITA Men's All-America Championships.
  • The event will run from Sept. 30 through Oct. 8 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
