FLAMES FACTS
  • UIC enters Friday's match with a 3-0-1 record, after a monumental 2-0 victory over Wisconsin on Sept. 4 at Flames Field. The Badgers had most recently knocked off second ranked Kentucky prior to their visit to Chicago. The victory was UIC's first over a Big Ten program since defeating Northwestern in 2018.
  • The unbeaten Flames continue to shine in the offensive third, as they have scored two or more goals in each of their four matches this season. UIC also averages over 16 shots per contest this year, while allowing its opponents just 10 shots per match.
  • The 10 goals the Flames have scored this season ranks them first in the Missouri Valley Conference in the category. UIC also ranks first in shots (65), scoring average (2.50), and overall goal differential (+7).
  • Sidney Warden (London, England) continues to pace a balanced Flames offense, as the graduate student has tallied seven points on the young season, a mark that is tied for the highest in the MVC. Warden has at least a point in each match so far this season, including an assist on the match winning goal against Wisconsin.
  • Jesus De Vicente (Casas Bajas, Spain) and Joshua Torres (Chicago, Ill., St. Patrick) have both contributed five points through the first four matches.

SCOUTING LOYOLA
  • The Ramblers (2-0-1) celebrated Labor Day with a 1-0 win over Oakland last Monday afternoon at Hoyne Field.
  • After its opening match of the season at Michigan State was canceled due to weather, Loyola opened its regular season with a 2-0 win over Lindenwood before drawing on the road with Cleveland State 2-2.
  • In three matches, the Ramblers have yet to be held scoreless by their opponents, while they have posted two clean sheets in just three matches.
  • Loyola ranks third in the Atlantic 10 in shots with 61, despite being the only team in the top four who has only played three matches.
