ST. LOUIS (Oct. 1, 2024) – UIC women's basketball graduate student
Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./DePaul/Proviso East) was selected to the 2024-25 Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference Second Team, the league announced Tuesday morning.
The forward had a strong 2023-24 season with the Flames. She played in all 34 games, averaging a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game, led the team with 55 steals and finished second on the team with 10.7 points per game (10.7).
Rimmer scored double figures in 19 games and earned six double-doubles for the Flames last season. A three-time MVC Newcomer of the Week, Rimmer was selected to the Valley's All-Newcomer Team at its postseason honors banquet on the eve of the 2024 MVC Tournament in Moline, Ill.
Along with the announcement of the preseason all-conference teams, the MVC released its preseason poll. For the second consecutive season, UIC was selected to finish sixth in the conference. The poll and the preseason all-conference teams were determined through a vote by MVC head coaches, sports information directors and selected media members.
Entering their third year in the Valley under head coach
Ashleen Bracey, the Flames return a veteran-led squad with 11 student-athletes set to return, led by Rimmer. Other notable veterans include senior wing
Makiyah Williams (Chicago, Ill./Marquette/Trinity), who led the team in scoring (12.9 ppg.), and graduate student
Jaida McCloud (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods), who ranks ninth in program history with 1,352 career points.
