CHICAGO (Oct. 4, 2024) – The UIC men's soccer team (6-4, 2-1 MVC) hits the road again this weekend as it travels to southern Indiana for a Saturday night matchup against Evansville (5-5-1, 1-2 MVC) at Arad McCutchan Stadium.

FLAMES FACTS
UIC elevated its overall record to two games above .500 for the first time this season following a 2-1 victory over previously unbeaten Bowling Green in Missouri Valley Conference play last Saturday. Redshirt senior forward Bart Muns (Amsterdam, Netherlands) notched both goals in the win, marking his second brace of the 2024 season. His match-winning strike was his fifth goal of the season, making him UIC's top scorer and placing him third overall in The Valley.

CHASING HISTORY

UIC men's soccer head coach Sean Phillips entered the season with 130 career victories as head coach of the Flames. His 136 wins are tied with the all-time win record (136) for UIC head coaches, currently held by Sasha Begovic from 1990-2004. With a win Saturday night, Phillips would become the winningest head coach in UIC men's soccer history.

SERIES NOTES
Saturday's contest will mark only the third meeting between these two teams, with UIC holding a 2-0 edge in the series. Their last encounter was on October 29, 2023, when the Flames secured a 2-0 win over the Purple Aces at Flames Field.

UP NEXT
UIC will host Belmont next weekend at Flames Field for their second Friday night match of the season, and their first on home turf. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT, with live coverage available on ESPN+.
