CHICAGO (Oct. 12, 2024) – The UIC volleyball team (13-6, 5-2 MVC) dominated Southern Illinois (9-9, 2-5 MVC) getting off to a hot start and never looking back during Missouri Valley Conference action Saturday night.
 
Graduate student Zahria Woodard (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) controlled the net tallying 9 blocks over the three sets. Sophomore Gabi Peter (Gilberts, Ill./Hampshire High School) recorded her second straight double-digit kill performance, leading the team with 10. Junior Francesca Venturini (Bergamo, Italy/Liceo Classico Paolo Sarpi) tallied 18 assists and 11 digs in the victory.

• Woodard adds to her MVC lead in blocks with her nine block performance, now totaling 102 for the season.
• Peter backs up her collegiate-high kill mark of 11 in Friday's win against Missouri State by getting back into double-digits for the second consecutive match.
• Venturini's 11 digs are the third most she has gotten in a match this season and is the seventh time she has reached the double-digit dig mark this year.
