Men's Soccer Readies for Clash with Notre Dame Tuesday

Flames and Fighting Irish Meet for Sixth All-Time Matchup

CHICAGO (Oct. 21, 2024) – The UIC men's soccer team (6-6, 2-3 MVC) closes out the non-conference portion of its 2024 schedule on Tuesday, as the Flames travel to South Bend, Ind. for a showdown under the lights against Notre Dame (5-3-5, 2-2-2 ACC). Kick-off is set for 6 p.m. CT, and the match can be seen live on ACCNX while logged in to your pay television provider. Live stats are also available via UICFlames.com.
 
FLAMES FACTS
UIC will look to return to its winning ways on Tuesday night, as the Flames are just 1-2 in their last three matches dating back to an Oct. 5 2-1 victory over Bowling Green. Despite recent offensive struggles, UIC continues to rank in the top 60 in Division I soccer in scoring offense (T-55th) as well as shots per match (40th).
 
Oren Asher (Hetzliya, Israel/Rutgers) made his return from injury in the Flames' 1-0 loss to Belmont on Oct. 18, his first match action since Sept. 6 at Oakland. Redshirt senior Bart Muns (Amsterdam, Netherlands) continues to pace the Flames offensively, netting five goals in 12 matches played this year.
  
SERIES NOTES
The Fighting Irish have a 5-0 advantage in the all-time series against UIC, most recently besting the Flames 4-2 at Flames Field on Oct. 18, 2022.
 
UP NEXT
The Flames will return to Missouri Valley Conference play this weekend, as they travel to Des Moines, Iowa for a clash against Drake Saturday night. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. CT.
