Swimming and Diving Excited for Home Opener Against Milwaukee Friday

UIC hosts the Panthers for the first time at the Flames Natatorium since 2022.

Chicago (Oct. 31, 2024) The UIC men's and women's swimming and diving teams are back at Flames Natatorium for the first time after starting the 2024-25 season on the road as they prepare to take on Milwaukee.
 
Fans are encouraged to attend the event with admission free to the public at the Flames Natatorium.

Last Season - vs. Milwaukee
 
  • UIC competed against Milwaukee last season in October 2023 at the Panther's Klotsche Natatorium , with both the men's (156-144) and women's (157-143) teams narrowly losing.
  • The meet was highlighted by a strong diving performance from junior Harrison Nolan (Riverside, Ill./Kentucky) winning both the three-meter (352.13 points) and the one-meter (322.13 points) diving board events junior Kerry-Leigh Morrison (Gauteng, South Africa/St Mary's) winning the three-meter diving board event with a score of 281.03 points on the women's side.
  • The 1,000 free was dominated by UIC on both the men's and women's side with grad-student Liam Davis (Naperville, Ill./Plainfield North) winning on the men's side (9:43.51) and sophomore Molly Kroeger (Easton, Md./Easton) winning on the women's side (10:37.84)

  • Davis had a strong showing winning the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:51.46 and finishing second in the 200 Freestyle (1:51.46)
  • Freshman Frank Alberti (Wichita, Kansas/Kapaun Mt. Carmel) posted strong showings in the 200 backstroke ( 3rd Place| 1:53.5), 100 backstroke (4th Place| 51.71) and 100 butterfly (7th Place | 53.19).
  • Freshman Samantha Wilson (Richmond, New Zealand/Waimea College) won the 200 butterfly (2:02.74) and finished second in the 100 butterfly (55.36), posting new collegiate-high marks in both events. Wilson's times are second in the Missouri Valley Conference in the 200 butterfly and third in the 100 butterfly.
  • Kroeger finished first in the 1,000 Freestyle with a time of 10:29.21, and third in the 500 Freestyle finishing with a time of 5:06.31.
 
Diving
 
  • Senior Cole Tremewan (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) collected back-to-back second place finishes in the three-meter (340.58 points) and one-meter (302.38 points) diving events
  • Morrison won the women's three meter diving competition with a score of 271.28 and a second place finish on the one-meter diving board (234.15 points).
  • Nolan took home first in the men's one-meter diving competition with a score of 333.38.
