LAST TIME OUT
UIC battled Valparaiso (4-15, 3-7 MVC) to the final seconds, but a buzzer-beating shot was the difference as the Flames fell to the Beacons, 71-70 on Feb. 4 at Credit Union 1 Arena.

Junior forward Makiyah Williams (Chicago, Ill./Trinity/Marquette) led the Flames with 22 points and added four rebounds. Senior guard Danyel Middleton (Chicago, Ill./Bolingbrook/Marquette) collected 12 points, four rebounds and a block. Graduate student guard/forward Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./Proviso East/DePaul) netted nine points and grabbed 11 boards.

SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
Evansville has struggled to find victories this season, managing only two wins out of 21 games. The Purple Aces' lone wins came against Chicago State (103-102 in triple overtime) and Lindenwood (70-68). UE has lost its last 12 games and remains winless in league play, most recently falling to Valparaiso (70-59) and Bradley (79-72). Evansville's most notable conference performance to date was at Drake on Jan. 6, where the Purple Aces dropped a 78-68 decision.

Sophomore guard Kynidi Mason Striverson continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 13.0 points per game. Meanwhile graduate student forward Barbora Tomancova is the leading rebounder for the Purple Aces (8.1 rpg.).

The last time the two teams met on Jan. 26 in Evansville, Middleton and graduate student guard Dais'Ja Trotter (Louisville, Ky./Seneca/Cincinnati) led the Flames with 13 points apiece in a 70-61 victory over the Purple Aces. Evansville currently leads the series with the Flames, 10-7, although UIC has won four of the last five meetings between the schools.

SCOUTING INDIANA STATE
Indiana State is on a two-game losing streak following their third conference victory of the season (Jan. 26 vs. Valparaiso). Throughout the MVC season, the Sycamores also beat Evansville (66-49 on Dec. 30) and Southern Illinois (64-63 on Jan. 19). In their most recent game against Illinois State on Feb. 4, the Sycamores battled hard but ultimately fell short, losing 64-59.

This season, the Sycamores' post players have been pivotal in scoring, with fifth-year forward Chelsea Cain and redshirt senior Mya Glanton leading the team at 10.6 points per game. Glanton also registers a team-high 7.9 rebounds per game for the Sycamores.

UIC and Indiana State faced off less than two weeks ago on Jan. 28 in Terre Haute, Ind., where a 30-point third quarter propelled the Flames to a comfortable 76-48 victory over the Sycamores. Despite trailing for much of the first half, UIC dominated the second half, outscoring the hosts, 50-22. In that game, Williams scored 18 points, while Rimmer and senior forward Jaida McCloud (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) both contributed 11 points.
