BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 7, 2024) – The UIC men's tennis program (10-9, 2-6 MAC) won its second conference match of the season Sunday afternoon, as the Flames defeated Buffalo (4-13, 0-9 MAC) 5-2 at the Miller Tennis Center.
The Flames won singles matches at the Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 positions in Sunday's victory over the Bulls.

"It was great to see our guys compete hard at the end of the match like they did today. We didn't play well in our doubles matches, but we competed very hard in singles."
MATCH RECAP
- The Bulls swept the doubles matches to win the doubles point.
- In singles competition, Randy Wilson (Miami, Fla./Florida Gulf Coast) made quick work of his opponent at No. 1 singles, winning his match in straight sets.
- At No. 3 singles, Edoardo Bottino (Genoa, Italy/Queens University) swept his Buffalo counterpart 6-3, 6-3 to win his ninth match of the season.
- Robinson Le Meur (Evreux, France/Sciences Po Bordeaux) clinched the match victory for the Flames with a three-set victory at No. 2 singles. The sophomore has a team-high 12 wins in 2024, while Sunday's victory was his second competing at No. 2 singles.
- With the team victory in hand, Elliott Dam (Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won his second match in a row, defeating Buffalo's Ryan Thompson at No. 6 singles in three sets.
- Sunday's victory was UIC's second victory against Buffalo this season. With the win, the Flames move to 3-0 all-time against the Bulls.

UP NEXT
- The Flames conclude its regular season next week as the teams hosts Western Michigan Friday and Ball State Sunday in Chicago.
- Both matches will start at 12 p.m. and take place at either the XS Tennis Village or Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts, depending on weather.
- The Flames fell to the Broncos 5-2 and the Cardinals 6-1 in their first meetings against the two programs this season.
- Western Michigan is currently 14-5 on the season and 6-2 in conference play, while Ball State is 11-8 overall and 5-3 in MAC competition.
