CHICAGO (July 8, 2024) – The UIC women's basketball team put the final touches on its roster for the 2024-25 season with the addition of freshman center
Magdalena Winter (Berlin, Germany), head coach
Ashleen Bracey announced Monday.
Winter is the is the fourth and final scholar-athlete to commit to the Flames since the end of the '23-24 season, joining senior guards
Arin Freeman (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock/Coastal Carolina) and
Jalysa Stokes (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Central/UMSL), and sophomore forward
Julia Coleman (St. Louis, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy/Texas State).
"We are thrilled to welcome Magdelena to our Flames Basketball Family," Bracey said. "She has the size and athleticism that we feel is needed to compete at a high level in the Missouri Valley Conference. She is a dedicated student, high character person and a talented athlete with a very high ceiling. Magdalena is excited to learn and develop under our veteran student-athletes and she is committed to the core values of our program and helping us to become a championship caliber program."
The 6-4 center most recently played for the German U17 World Cup Team in 2022. She was also a member of her country's U16 National Team in 2021 and has competed with the ALBA Berlin club team.
