Women’s Soccer Drops Thursday's Match After Late Marquette Goal

Flames' goalkeeper Lauren Keiser recorded eight saves

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Aug. 29, 2024) – The UIC women's soccer team dropped a closely contested match against Marquette on Thursday night at Valley Fields. Both the Flames and the Golden Eagles struggled to find the back of the net for most of the match. In the 87th minute, Marquette pushed the ball past the goal line to take the lead.

COACH'S COMMENT
"This is a game where one moment can make the difference and tonight, we were on the other side of that moment," said head coach David Nikolic. "We had a strong run of play, particularly in the second half, with more positive ideas and forward momentum, but we couldn't find the back of the net. I'm confident that we'll be ready to bounce back and compete on Sunday against Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
