CHICAGO (Sept. 15, 2024) – After a successful two-match home stand at Credit Union 1 Arena this past weekend, the UIC volleyball team (7-1, 0-0 MVC) returns to the road this week, remaining close to home with a Monday night match-up against Chicago State (3-5, 0-0 NEC) before partaking in DePaul's Chicago Cup over the weekend.

HOMESTAND RECAP
- The Flames finished the weekend with a sweep in three consecutive sets against Bowling Green (4-4, 0-0 MAC) and a five-set victory against Brown (2-4, 0-0 Ivy) at Credit Union 1 Arena.
- The Flames victory over the Bears was their first win against an Ivy League program since UIC's 3-2 victory over Harvard at the Fairfield Volleyball Classic in Fairfield, Conn. on Sept. 14, 2002.
- Junior Ayat Amin (Cairo, Egypt/Al Waha International School) led in kills in both wins, with 11 against the Falcons and a season-high 16 kills against the Bears. She finished the weekend averaging 3.38 kills per set.
- Junior Cleo Lorenzo (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Elite) tallied a season-high 14 kills and 11 digs in the win against Brown on Saturday.
- The Flames' 7-1 start ties for their best start in recent memory, tying the 7-1 start to the 2019 season.
