Women’s Soccer Dominates UNI to Open Conference Play

Pair of Riley Collett Goals Propel Flames to Thursday Victory

CHICAGO (Sept. 19, 2024) – The UIC women's soccer team (2-7, 1-0 MVC) played the third match of a four-match home stand Thursday night, as it welcomed UNI (5-3-1, 0-1 MVC) to Flames Field to open Missouri Valley Conference play.

The Flames jumped out to an early lead in the 21st minute, as Riley Collett (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) tallied her first goal of the season and her career to give UIC the early 1-0 lead. Despite some pressure put on by the Panthers in the second half, the Flames were able to double their advantage thanks to another Collett tally, cruising to a 2-0 victory.
