Za' Niya Boyles (Columbia, S.C./ Gray Collegiate Academy), UIC volleyball (8-4, 0-0 MVC) overwhelmed
Milwaukee (5-6, 0-0 Horizon) in a four-set victory on the final day of the Chicago Cup at McGrath-Phillips Arena Saturday evening.

Boyles tallied 10 kills with a .381 hitting percentage, a new season-high for the sophomore. Junior
Cleo Lorenzo (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Elite) contributed seven kills and 20 digs. Sophomore
Tamara Kisic (Belgrade/Serbia) also collected seven kills and 10 digs in the win.

"I think this win was what we needed. It was a great momentum starter for conference play. Coming into the match, I just wanted to be competitive and get kills for my team. That wouldn't be possible without my teammates and I coming together to do our parts."

- This is Boyles first double-digit kill this season, and her third double-digit kill performance in her career at UIC.
- 20 digs is a new collegiate high for Lorenzo, and her third double-digit dig performance this season.
- Graduate student Zahria Woodard (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) collected six blocking assists and three solo blocks. That is a new season-high for the middle blocker.
- Behind Woodard's nine blocks, the Flames collected a season-high 17 blocks  as a team in the win.
