CHICAGO (Sept. 5, 2024) – The UIC men's soccer team (1-3-0, 0-0-0 MVC) heads back out on the road this week, as it pays a visit to former Horizon League foe Oakland (0-3-0, 0-0-0 Horizon) Friday night in Rochester, Mich. The Flames and Golden Grizzlies met most recently last season, when the two played to a 2-2 draw at Flames Field. OFFENSIVE ACUMEN
Despite playing one of the tougher non-conference schedules in the Missouri Valley Conference thus far, the Flames continue to rank in the top five in the conference in several offensive categories, including goals (8), assists (8) and points (24).

SERIES NOTES
UIC holds a 6-4-4 all-time advantage in the series against Oakland. The Flames are 1-1-1 in the last three games against the Golden Grizzlies, and last beat Oakland in Rochester Sept. 25, 2021 by a 2-0 final score.

The Flames will return home following Friday night's match to begin a three-match home stand next week, beginning with a Sept. 12 match against Loyola. Following a Sept. 15 bout against Marquette, UIC will open the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference schedule Sept. 21 against Missouri State at Flames Field.
