SCOUTING MURRAY STATE
- This will be the sixth game between both programs, with Murray State holding a 4-1 overall series lead.
- In the last meeting, the Flames fell short at home last season, dropping the lone match-up of last season at home, 83-63 on Feb. 22. Senior Makiyah Williams (Chicago, Ill./Trinity/Marquette) led the Flames with 16 points and five rebounds. Graduate student Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./Proviso East/DePaul) netted 16 points, grabbed six boards and collected three steals in the contest.
- The Racers have the strongest offensive production in the MVC, averaging 88.9 points per game. They are led by graduate student Katelyn Young (18.5 PPG) and sophomore Halli Poock (17.5 PPG).
- After falling to Missouri State (10-4, 2-1 MVC) to close out last weekend, the Racers return to the win column Friday night when they defeated Valparaiso (5-10, 1-3 MVC) 82-45 behind double-doubles from Young, senior Ava Learn, and sophomore Haven Ford.
LAST GAME RECAP – AT BELMONT
- The Flames caught fire offensively in the last 10 minutes of the game, but couldn't fend off Belmont (8-7, 3-1 MVC) on the road Friday afternoon, falling to the Bruins 67-52 at the Curb Event Center.
- Williams led the Flames in scoring with 15 points, grabbing 15 points, a pair of rebounds and a steal.
- Rimmer scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and collected two steals in 16 minutes off the bench.
- Senior Krystyna Ellew (Chicago, Ill./Taft/Wisconsin) sank a pair of threes in 26 minutes of play. She has now made a three-pointer in five of the past six games.
