SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
  • This will be the 19th time the Flames and Purple Aces are set to battle it out. Although Evansville holds two-game lead on the overall series (10-8), the Flames have found routine success against Evansville, winning five of the past six meetings, dating back to Dec. 2017.
  • After a 4-7 showing in non-conference play, Evansville has its sights set on snapping a two-game losing streak, last earning a victory at home against SIU (3-14, 1-7 MVC) on Jan. 19.
  • Not one to shy away from beyond the arc, the Purple Aces have sunk 134 triples this season, ranking them tied for fifth in The Valley, averaging 7.1 made three-pointers per game.
  • Evansville have a scoring duo in sophomore Maggie Hartwig and freshman Camyrn Runner making waves in conference play this season. Hartwig is tied with Runner as the sixth-leading scorer in the MVC, both averaging 16.1 points per game. Not shy to crash the boards, Hartwig is the fifth-best at crashing the boards for rebounds (8.4 RPG) in the MVC. Runner has made her name known in the MVC, having secured Freshman of the Week honors six times this season.
LAST TIME OUT – VS. VALPARAISO

  • The Flames closed out a three-game home stand victorious Sunday afternoon, securing a 60-45 win over Valparaiso (6-13, 2-6 MVC) in front of the home crowd at Credit Union 1 Arena.
  • UIC was led in scoring by senior Krystyna Ellew (Chicago, Ill./Taft/Wisconsin) with 14 points behind four three-pointers. The senior guard now leads UIC with 25 three pointers in the season.
  • Graduate student Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./ Proviso East/DePaul) contributed 10 points, six rebounds and three assists with 19 minutes off the bench.
  • The Flames improve to 6-1 against the Beacons since joining the Missouri Valley Conference in 2022.

NEED TO KNOW
  • Completing four assists in the win over Valparaiso, graduate student Kristian Young (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) is 18 assists away from surpassing UIC alumnus Terri Bender (2012-17) as the all-time leader in assists in program history.
  • Led by the efforts of Ellew and Rimmer, UIC remains to have one of the top benches in the entire NCAA DI. The Flames' bench averages 33.1 points per game, ranking third in the entire country.
  • Midway through her third season as head coach of the Flames, Ashleen Bracey has 43 wins at UIC, with seven wins away from the 50-win milestone.
