Women's Swimming and Diving Set to Battle Illinois State

The Flames will host their second consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Opponent.

CHICAGO – The UIC women's swimming and diving program continues its 2025-26 season Friday afternoon when they welcome Illinois State to Flames Natatorium in a Missouri Valley Conference match-up. Admission is free to fans who attend.
 
The meet will be the program's first Pink Meet for cancer awareness. After the second diving event there will be a moment of silence for all who have been affected by cancer. Attendees will be given a pink sheet of paper to write the names of those they want to honor that have battled cancer.

FLAMES FACTS
  • This will be the sixth all-time meeting between the Flames and Redbirds, and the first since October 21, 2023. UIC will be looking for its first win against Illinois State.
  • The last time UIC and Illinois State met, senior Madison Helmick won the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:35.37 and senior Kerry-Leigh Morrison won the three-meter diving event with a score of 301.20.

DUAL MEET RECAP - SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
 
  • Senior Kerry-Leigh Morrison swept the diving competitions scoring 257.78 in the one-meter and 282.75 in the three-meter. Morrison earned MVC Women's Diver of the Week honors for her performance and met the qualifying score for NCAA Zone C Cuts in the three-meter event.
  • Sophomore Samantha Wilson won the 100 butterfly (56.77), 200 butterfly (2:03.09) and contributed to the second place women's 400 medley relay (1:29.50).
