CHICAGO – For the second straight night, the UIC volleyball team (11-7, 5-3 MVC) battled its way to another Missouri Valley Conference five-set victory, defeating Belmont (13-6, 4-4 MVC) in front of the home crowd at Credit Union 1 Arena on Saturday night.
Senior
Ayat Amin led the offensive charge with 22 kills, 10 digs, and five blocks. Sophomore
Antonie Kelnárová followed with 16 kills and nine digs, while senior
Julieta Sandez added eight kills and paced the team with eight blocks.

FLAMES FACTS
• Amin wrapped up the weekend with 38 kills, averaging a team-best 3.80 kills per set. She has recorded double-digit kills in nine of her last 10 matches.
• Kelnárová also turned in a strong weekend performance, totaling 36 kills and averaging 3.60 kills per set.
• Redshirt sophomore
Hannah Ditsworth led the team with 15 blocks over the weekend, including five against the Bruins. She averaged 1.50 blocks per set.
• The Flames improved to 5-3 in five-set matches this season, including a perfect 3-0 mark against Missouri Valley Conference opponents.
