Swimming and Diving Hosts Southern Illinois to Open Season

The Flames get the season underway against the Salukis.

CHICAGO – The UIC swimming and diving program embarks on its 2025-26 season Friday afternoon when they face off against Southern Illinois at the Flames Natatorium in a Missouri Valley Conference match-up. Admission is free to fans who attend.

LAST YEAR RECAP
 
WOMEN
  • The Flames are coming off a fifth place finish in the MVC last season, their highest finish since joining the conference in 2022-23.
  • Seven members who earned All-Conference accolades last season return for the Flames.
  • The swimmers are highlighted by returners junior Molly Kroeger and sophomore Samantha Wilson, both of whom won MVC individual titles last season.
  • The divers are led by senior Kerry-Leigh Morrison, who was named First-Team All-MVC last season.
MEN
  • The Flames placed fourth in their first season competing in the MVC last season, with two individual champions.
  • The swimmers return junior James McCarthy who won the 200 breaststroke MVC title last season.
  • Senior Harrison Nolan heads the diving team, winning both the one-meter and three-meter MVC events en route to earning MVC Diver of the Year accolades.
