MILWAUKEE—In its first road dual meet of the season, the UIC swimming and diving program faced off against Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon. The women's team earned its third consecutive dual meet victory over the Panthers (161.5–138.5), while the men's team fell short (203–94).
The Flames collected a dozen first place finishes amidst over 40 third place finishes throughout the meet. On the diving board, the Flames had four season-best scores and one lifetime best.
COMMENT FROM HEAD COACH ASHLEY DELL
"I'm so proud of the way the team competed at our first away meet today. The women haven't won at Milwaukee in at least 15 years or so. So, for them to walk away with the win was amazing! Our men gave it everything they had but it's hard to compete with a team who all wore tech suits. I'm excited for a few weeks of good training before our mid-season invite!"
COMMENT FROM ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH/ HEAD DIVING COACH SUSAN BROMBERG
"The divers did really well today. We had four season-best scores with
Kerry-Leigh Morrison,
Kathryn Kleczka,
Ava Molina and Bruno Carillo in the one-meter diving events.
Christian Curtis even had a lifetime best on the three-meter diving board. Kerry-Leigh won both women's events and also got her one-meter zone cut. Christian had another great day, winning both of events, collecting zone cuts in both events.
