CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (1-3, 0-0 MVC) aims to bounce back when they host Loyola (1-4, 0-0 A-10) at Credit Union 1 Arena Saturday at 2 p.m. (CT) for more nonconference action.

SCOUTING LOYOLA
- Saturday's contest will be the 71st overall matchup between the two teams. Loyola narrowly leads this matchup 36-34 all-time, with the last contest between the two sides going to the Flames 67-51 in November, 2023.
- Recently, the Ramblers hosted Illinois State, losing 59-44 on Tuesday night. Sophomore forward Brooklyn Vaughn gave Loyola a strong showing, posting a double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds) in the evening.
- Vaughn averages 9.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, making her one of the first names around the starting lineup. She's featured in every game, only starting twice.
- The only win in their campaign comes from their season opener versus Milwaukee, 59-55. Freshman Alex-Anne Bessette led the team in scoring with 12 points as the Ramblers secured a 30-point second half and the victory.
LAST GAME RECAP – vs. WISCONSIN
- Leading in the first quarter 17-14, the Flames struggled to hang onto a great start, losing against Wisconsin 74-53.
- UIC had a prolific fourth quarter, shooting 53.8% from the field and knocking down a triple to close the lead.
- Seniors Jessica Carrothers and Julia Coleman combined for 28 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and three steals, while Sara Zabrecky is only four triples away from reaching 100 career threes for the Flames.
- This game marked three consecutive games with 10+ offensive boards.
