Women’s Basketball Meet Iona in Turkey Tip-Off Championship

Tip-off is slated for 1:30 p.m. (CT)/ 2:30 p.m. (ET).

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The UIC women's basketball team (4-3, 0-0 MVC) has its sight sets for the 2025 Iona Turkey Tip-Off Championship, facing off against Iona (4-2, 0-0 MAAC) at the Hynes Athletic Center Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is slated for 1:30 p.m. (CT).
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available at UICFlames.com. Admission is free for those wishing to attend.

SCOUTING IONA
  • The Flames meet the Gaels for the first time on the court Saturday afternoon.
  • Iona has continued its winning ways Friday afternoon, defeating St. Francis (PA.) (0-7, 0-0 NEC) in a 50-31 victory. Junior Zoey Ward led the Gaels on the attack, securing a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Graduate student Naomi Barnwell had nine point and eight rebounds in the win.
  • Graduate student Isabellah Middleton is a steady presence on the court for the Gaels, leading the team in scoring (13.6 PPG) and rebounding (7.2 RPG).
LAST GAME RECAP – VS. MAINE
  • The Flames opened the 2025 Iona Turkey Tip-Off with a physical victory, earning the win against Maine (1-5, 0-0 AEC) Friday afternoon, 64-54.
  • Redshirt Sophomore Julia Coleman powered the Flames with a new career-high 24, seven rebounds, three blocks, three steals and two assists.
  • Sophomore TuTu Clayton chipped in a dozen points and three assists. The guard has scored double figures in four of the past five games.
  • Collecting her first collegiate double-double of her career, redshirt Freshman Magdalena Winter collected 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.  
  • UIC collected a season-high 39 rebounds, including a season-high 15 offensive boards against the Black Bears.
