CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UIC volleyball team (15-7, 7-3 MVC) is back on the road, traveling west to take on two of the top programs in the Missouri Valley Conference — Northern Iowa (19-5, 12-0 MVC) and Drake (13-10, 9-3 MVC).

SCOUTING NORTHERN IOWA
- Friday will be the 20th meeting between UIC and Northern Iowa, with the Panthers taking the record of 17-2. The last win against the Panthers dates back to September 12, 2015, in a 3-2 win at the All-American Classic in Indianapolis.
- In their most recent matchup, UIC fell to the Panthers in 4 sets on September 26. Senior
Ayat Amin kept the Flames within touching distance with 14 kills and three blocks in the loss.
- Northern Iowa will look to continue their 42-game Missouri Valley Conference winning streak, the second longest in NCAA Division 1 as well as their 13-game winning streak on the season with sweeps versus Indiana State (9-15, 3-9 MVC) and Belmont (14-9, 5-7 MVC) and a 4-set victory over Southern Illinois (10-16, 4-8 MVC).
- Junior Cassidy Hartman has been the main asset for the Panthers, leading the team in kills (325), points (358.5), and kills per set (4.11).
SCOUTING DRAKE
- Saturday will be their 17th meeting all-time between the Flames and Bulldogs, with Drake leading the series 9-7. UIC have taken the last two contests, including a win in 4 sets at the MVC semi-final last season.
- In their most recent contest at home, Senior
Cleo Lorenzo led the team to victory with 19 kills and 14 digs.
- Drake enters the weekend with a nine-game conference win streak, taking down Illinois State (10-14,5-7 MVC) and Southern Illinois (10-16, 4-8 MVC) 3-1, and sweeping Belmont (14-9, 5-7 MVC).
- Senior Macy Daufeldt, one half of a two-pronged attack, leads the team in kills (312) and points (347.5). Graduate Student Kacia Brown, the other half of the attack, leads the team in points per set (3.96), kills per set (3.49), and service aces (24).
LAST WEEKEND RECAP - VS. EVANSVILLE/ INDIANA STATE
- The Flames left with a pair of sweeps in Indiana last weekend versus the Evansville (6-18, 2-10 MVC) and the Sycamores, extending their winning streak to seven.
- Junior
Gabi Peter helped the Flames finish the weekend 2-0 with 19 kills, two assists, and a dig totaling 21.5 points. Sophomore
Antonie Kelnárová assisted in corralling the offense with 17 kills, 17 digs, and a service ace.
- Senior
Julieta Sandez continued her strong campaign with 10 kills, four service aces, and eight blocks, continuing her dominance in hitting percentage as one of the leaders at the NCAA Division 1 level.
- The sweeps add up to the Flames' sixth and seventh of the season. These victories now include five sweeps against Missouri Valley Conference opponents.
- Their seven-match winning streak now is their highest since their six-game stretch back in 2021.
