Volleyball Pushes Northern Iowa to Five Tough Sets

The Flames battle hard, but fall in a tight five-setter on the road.

Box Score CEDAR FALLS, Iowa– The UIC volleyball team (15-8, showed fight throughout Thursday night's Missouri Valley Conference matchup, but came up just short against Northern Iowa, falling in five sets (18-25, 26-28, 26-24, 25-23, 8-15) at the McLeod Center. The Flames rallied from an 0-2 deficit to force a decisive fifth frame before the Panthers pulled away late.

Senior Cleo Lorenzo paced the attack, tying her career high with 21 kills and adding 10 digs. Senior Julieta Sandez tallied 10 kills, while freshman Sasha Pellettieri recorded a career-high nine kills in the match.
