Women’s Basketball Faces Off Against Northern Iowa in New Year’s Eve Match-Up

Tip-off is scheduled at Noon (CT) on 80’s Day.

CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (6-7, 1-1 MVC) aims to bounce back Wednesday afternoon, when they challenge Northern Iowa (6-6, 2-0 MVC) in front of the
home crowd at Credit Union 1 Arena on 80's Day. Tip-off is scheduled at Noon (CT).

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and available to listen to for free on the Flames Network with live stats on UICFlames.com. Fans can purchase tickets at TicketMaster.com.

SCOUTING NORTHERN IOWA
  • This will be the 23rd match-up between the Flames and the Panthers. Although UNI has a 16-6 overall lead in the series, UIC won in its last meeting, 76-57 on March 5, 2025.
  • Northern Iowa aims to continue its winning ways in conference play, after defeating Valparaiso (0-13, 0-2 MVC) on the road Monday, 86-52.
  • Junior Jenna Twedt led the Panthers in scoring Monday, with 18 points and four steals. In just 21 minutes of play off the bench, Kaylynn Janes scored 16 points, including four three pointers.
  • Senior Ryley Goebel remains one of the top producers for the Panthers, averaging 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
LAST GAME RECAP – VS. DRAKE
  • The Flames cut it within six points late into the third quarter Monday afternoon, but ultimately falling short against Drake (3-9, 2-0 MVC), 78-62.
  • Senior Jessica Carrothers led the Flames in scoring with 20 of her 26 points coming in the second half. She also had four assists and two rebounds in the game.
  • Redshirt freshman Magdalena Winter added eight points and seven rebounds in the game.
  • Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman netted eight point and four rebounds in 17 minutes on the court.
