SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
  • This will be the 20th match-up between the Flames and the Purple Aces. Although Evansville remains ahead, 10-9 on the overall series, the Flames have won the past four meetings.
  • At Meeks Family Fieldhouse, the Flames rolled past the Purple Aces on Jan. 30, collecting UIC's largest winning-margin against a Missouri Valley Conference opponent, 74-43. Senior Makiyah Williams (Chicago, Ill./Trinity/Marquette) led all scorers in the game, collecting 19 points, four assists and three rebounds in the win.
  • Weeks later at Credit Union 1 Arena, UIC collected it's second consecutive win over Evansville on Feb. 23, 71-54. Graduate student Danyel Middleton (Chicago, Ill./Bolingbrook) scored 15 points and senior Krystyna Ellew (Chicago, Ill./Taft/Wisconsin) scored 14 points in the victory.
  • After collecting a victory at home against Indiana State (4-27, 2-18 MVC) on March 1, the Purple Aces fell in back-to-back home bouts against Murray State (16-4, 12-2 MVC) and Belmont (20-11, 15-5 MVC) over the weekend.
  • Freshman Camryn Runner had a strong individual showing over the weekend against the Racers and the Bruins. She averaged 15.5 points per game, collected a combined seven rebounds, four blocks and three assists.
LAST GAME RECAP – Vs. Drake
  • The Flames finished out the regular season facing off against Drake (21-10, 15-5 MVC) Saturday afternoon, falling short in front of a home crowd at Credit Union 1 Arena, 69-49.
  • Ellew led the Flames in scoring, with 14 points on three triples from beyond the arc. The senior has 56 three-pointers in the season and is one away from breaking into the top 10 for threes made in the season in program history.
  • Graduate student Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./Proviso East/DePaul) scored 13 points and grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds. Rimmer has scored in double figures in the past four games, and five out of the past six games.
  • The Flames bench continues to be pivotal, having outscored Drake's bench, 19-6. UIC's bench averages the second-best offensive production in the entire NCAA DI, averaging 32.1 points per game.
