Flames finished tied for 12th at the Golfweek Stifel Spring Challenge Wednesday

Ereño leads the Flames on the individual leaderboard, tying for 26th place (+12) among the 89 competitors.

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (April 2, 2025) – The UIC Golf team went toe-to-toe against 15 other schools at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club over the past three days, finishing tied for 12th at the Golfweek Stifel Spring Challenge, scoring a collective 71-over-par across the three-day event that finished Wednesday afternoon.
 
Freshman Alejandra Ereño (Madrid, Spain/Colegio Nuestra Senora del Recuerdo) leaped 10 spots up on the individual leaderboard in the final day, tying for 26th place with a score of 12-over-par. Junior Chaewon Jeong (Seoul, South Korea/Laurel Springs School) finished tied for 44th place (+16). Freshman Anastassia Daudin (Biarritz, France/ Jean Rostand Middle School Biarritz) finished tied for 64th place with a score of 23-over-par.

FLAMES FACTS
- The team collectively shot 21 birdies across 378 holes of golf (54 individually), Ereño accounted for seven of the birdies.
-  This marks the fourth time Alejandra Ereño has been the Flames best finisher.
- Chaewon Jeong's best round was the final round, shooting three-over-par.
 
UP NEXT
 
The Flames head to Terre Haute, Ind. next weekend to partake in Indiana State University's Spring Invitational April 6-7. UIC will be one of eight teams scattered across the Country Club of Terre Haute Par 72 course in the two-day event. Live scoring will be available on LeaderboardKing.com.
