CHICAGO — The UIC women's tennis team (15-4, MVC 7-1) is set to open play in the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Championship this Saturday, April 26 in Valparaiso, Indiana. The Flames enter the postseason as the tournament's No. 2 seed, earned a first-round bye and will face the winner of No. 3 Illinois State and No. 6 Drake in the semifinal round.

The Flames closed out an impressive regular season and enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the MVC Championship. The Flames enter the tournament following their best MVC conference record in program history. After going 7-1 in league play, the Flames earned their highest-ever seeding since joining the Valley cementing their status as one of the top contenders in the conference. The team's strong run through MVC competition has been highlighted by senior Mayu Ushio, who has anchored the lineup with a dominant 10-match unbeaten streak at the No. 1 singles position.

UIC is set to face a tough competition, but with a solid lineup and excellent team chemistry, they are ready to make a statement on the championship stage. The Flames are poised to fight for a spot in the title match and continue their journey toward postseason success.

UIC will take the court at 2:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 26 at The Courts of Northwest Indiana. The championship match is scheduled for Sunday, April 27. Live stats for the match will be available here.
