CHICAGO — In one of the biggest moments in program history, UIC women's tennis has secured a spot in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Final for the first time since joining the league.
The Flames delivered a statement win with a 4-1 triumph over Illinois State on Tuesday afternoon, continuing a season already filled with historic achievements. UIC now holds a 16-4 overall record and a 7-1 MVC mark, the program's best since entering the conference.
With the pressure on, UIC rose to the occasion right from the start. In doubles play, Mayu Ushio and Dongke Liu struck first with a dominant 6-2 win at No. 2. Moments later, Nia Cooper and Paula Rodriguez Gregoris clinched the doubles point with a sharp 6-3 victory at No. 3, setting the tone for the day.

At No. 1, MVC Player of the Year Mayu Ushio continued her commanding season with a 6-3, 6-2 win, extending her unbeaten streak.
