ST. LOUIS, Mo. – UIC baseball has earned the no. 4 seed in the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship, marking its highest seeding since joining The Valley ahead of the 2023 campaign.

The Flames (16-11 MVC) will open tournament play on Wednesday, May 21, at 11 a.m. CT against no. 3 seed Southern Illinois (16-11 MVC) at Duffy Bass Field in Normal, Illinois. The Salukis claimed the tiebreaker for the third seed by virtue of their head-to-head series win over UIC earlier this season.

The 2025 MVC Baseball Championship, presented by Credit Union 1, begins Tuesday, May 20, with single-elimination games between seeds 5–8. The top four seeds (no. 1 Murray State, no. 2 Missouri State, no. 3 Southern Illinois and no. 4 UIC) receive automatic byes into Wednesday's double-elimination bracket.

This year's tournament marks the first time the Flames have earned a bye to Wednesday since joining the MVC. UIC finished in a tie for third place with Southern Illinois in the final league standings.
