Head men's basketball coach
Rob Ehsan is beginning his second season at UIC. His first year saw strong improvement for the Flames, who finished with a 17-14 record and tied for fifth place in the Missouri Valley Conference. Under Ehsan's leadership, UIC also had its best regular-season winning percentage (.567) since 2004 and picked up four Quad 1-2 wins (second-best in the Valley). What's more, the Flames posted five wins over teams that competed in the postseason, including victories over Drake, Yale, Bradley and Illinois State, and they produced UIC's second-highest scoring offense (76.0 ppg. – fourth in MVC) in the past 30 years.
This year, the future is even brighter for the Flames, with nine newcomers (six Division I transfers and three highly-ranked freshmen) set to proudly wear the Red and Blue. UIC also welcomes back its second-leading scorer in junior guard
Ahmad Henderson II, along with a pair of redshirt freshmen in Henderson's fellow Chicago native, point guard
Carlos Harris III, and talented forward
Jayce Nathaniel.
Ashleen Bracey has taken UIC women's basketball to new heights in her first three years as head coach, leading the Flames to back-to-back-to-back postseason tournament appearances including WNIT berths the past two seasons. Last year, Bracey helped UIC to a 15-win campaign and a seventh-place MVC finish before claiming the program's first-ever WNIT win with an opening-round victory over UAB in front of a tremendous crowd at Credit Union 1 Arena.
The Flames are looking to reach even greater heights in 2025-26, welcoming 10 newcomers to the mix, including five transfers, led by guard
Jessica Carrothers, the reigning NAIA National Player of the Year and the nation's leading scorer at 31.4 points per game, and
Jaya McClure, who was an all-Mid-American Conference standout during her three seasons at Ohio University.
Living up to its deserved reputation as Chicago's College Team, UIC basketball is among the most affordable family entertainment anywhere in the Windy City. Fans can catch the Flames all season long at Credit Union 1 Arena, with information regarding 2025-26 season ticket packages outlined below.
