CHICAGO – To close out opening week, the UIC women's soccer team welcomed the #23 Wisconsin Badgers to Flames Field for the first time in program history, and their second-ever meeting. Following 90 minutes of action, the Badgers came out on top, defeating the Flames 1-0.
A competitive first half ended in a nil-nil draw, with both teams having chances on goal. The Badgers led, placing three of eight shots on goal, while the Flames placed both of their shots on goal. Both Sophia Jaime and Hannah Gryzik had great chances but struggled to find the back of the net. In the second half, the Badgers capitalized on a shot in the 60th minute, taking a 1-0 lead that held until the final whistle. The Flames were held shotless through the second half.
