Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Remains Unbeaten After 1-1 Draw at DePaul

Nys scores his team-leading fourth goal of the season

CHICAGO – UIC junior Edouard Nys scored his team- and Missouri Valley Conference-leading fourth goal of the season midway through the second half, but DePaul equalized with less than six minutes to play as the Flames and Blue Demons split the points following a hard-fought and gritty Windy City matchup on Thursday afternoon at Wish Field in Lincoln Park. The result keeps UIC's record unblemished through the first four matches this season (3-0-1) and gives the Flames their first point against DePaul since 2021.

After knocking on the door for much of the first half and into the early stages of the second half, Nys put UIC in front in the 66th minute, latching on to a pass in the left channel 30 yards from goal, shaking free from his mark and blasting a low curling shot that snaked through traffic and found its way inside the far right post.

Senior goalkeeper Owen Cornell kept the Flames in front throughout the latter stages of the match with five of his career-high six saves. However, DePaul managed to level the score on Keagan Pace's transition score with 5:38 left.
