Women’s Tennis Takes on Omaha in Home Opener

Flames welcome Mavericks into XS Tennis Village at 12:00 PM

1/28/2026 2:29:00 PM

CHICAGO - UIC women's tennis returns to XS Tennis Village for the first time in 2026 to face off against the Omaha Mavericks. The Flames enter competition at 0-1 while the Mavericks are 2-3. Omaha represents another quality opponent which will continue to be a theme for the Flames in 2026.

Last time out, the Flames lost to Northwestern. However, despite the loss head coach Elizabeth Lumpkin-Robinson was proud of the way her team competed in singles against a very strong Wildcats team.

Quote from Coach Lumpkin-Robinson:
"We are excited for our first matches at home for the 2026 season and I'm excited to be on this journey with this team. I look forward to seeing our Flames compete at a high level and enjoy the atmosphere. Our tough competitive schedule will prepare us to be a passionate and gritty team through the season."
