Women’s Basketball Concludes Five-Game Homestand Sunday Against Indiana State

CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (6-8, 1-2 MVC) concludes its five-game homestand Sunday afternoon, when it takes on Indiana State (5-8, 1-2 MVC) in Missouri Valley Conference action at Credit Union 1 Arena. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. (CT).

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ or listened to for free on the Flames Network. Live stats will be available at UICFlames.com. Sunday's game will also be our Hoops for Heroes game, where we will be celebrating/honoring first responders and military personnel.

SCOUTING INDIANA STATE
  • Sunday afternoon will mark the 22nd all-time meeting between the Flames and Sycamores. Indiana State holds a 13-8 advantage in the series, but UIC has won the past five matchups since joining the MVC in July 2022.
  •  The Sycamores returned to the win column on New Year's Day with an 88-78 victory over Valparaiso (0-14, 0-3 MVC) on Thursday. Sophomore Tierney Kelsey and junior Clemisha Packett led the way with 18 points apiece.
  • Kelsey ranks among the top scorers in the conference, averaging 16.5 points per game, tied for seventh in The Valley.
  • Indiana State is one of the MVC's top offensive teams, averaging the second-most points per game (73.3 PPG)
LAST GAME RECAP – VS. NORTHERN IOWA
  • The Flames battled to the final seconds Wednesday afternoon, but ultimately fell short to Northern Iowa (7-6, 3-0 MVC), 75-74 at Credit Union 1 Arena.
  • Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman led the Flames in scoring with 18 points, four rebounds and three assists.
  • After being held scoreless in the first half, senior Jessica Carrothers finished with 17 points, eight assists and five rebounds.
  • Tying her career-high, guard TuTu Clayton finished with 16 points and a pair of assists.
