Volleyball Squares-Off Against Southern Illinois Saturday Night

First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. (CT).

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The UIC volleyball team (4-11, 0-3 MVC) closes out it's Missouri Valley Conference road trip Saturday evening, when they face-off against Southern Illinois (8-6, 2-0 MVC) at the Davies Gym for a 5 p.m. (CT) first serve. The match will not be streamed, but will be available to follow along through live stats at UICFlames.com.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
  • This will be the 16th meeting between the programs, with Southern Illinois holding an 8-7 advantage in the all-time series. Since joining the Missouri Valley Conference in 2022, UIC has gone 5-1 against the Salukis.
  • Last time the Flames were at Davies Gym, they swept the Salukis in straight sets last October. Senior Gabi Peter contributed seven kills, and Tamara Kisic tallied a pair of service aces in the victory.
  • Before facing off against Valparaiso (9-6, 1-2 MVC) Friday night, the Salukis opened up MVC play last weekend with a five-set thrilling win at Evansville (3-11, 0-2 MVC) before closing out with a sweeping win over Indiana State (6-7, 0-2 MVC) on the road.
  • Freshman McKenzie Moeller (146) and senior Ella Swansiger (144) lead the Salukis' attack, ranking among the top 10 in the MVC in kills this season.
LAST MATCH OUT – AT VALPARAISO
  • The Flames opened their road trip Wednesday night, falling short to the Beacons in four sets at the Athletics-Recreation Center (ARC).
  • Sophomore Emma Colombari led the attack with a double-double, collecting 15 kills and 10 digs in the contest.
  • Sophomore Sasha Pellettieri added a collegiate-high 10 kills with a .412 hitting percentage, collecting six total blocks.
  • Freshman Robyn Ward tallied a collegiate-high eight total blocks against the Beacons, adding four kills.
