Normal, Ill. – UIC Women's tennis advanced to the championship rounds in several flights over the weekend at the Redbird Invitational, with the Flames competing in four singles finals and two doubles finals. UIC also had multiple players competing for third and fifth-place finishes across the singles and doubles draws. Cooper and Tai's Flight 1 doubles championship qualifies the duo for the ITA Conference Masters Tournament, set for November in Rome, GA.

Cooper and Tai captured the Flight 1 Doubles championship, defeating Illinois State's Benedetti and Peretti 8-5.

Tai finished runner-up in Flight 5 Singles

Deletioglu also earned a runner-up finish in Flight 6 Singles.

Deletioglu and Halbersztadt finished second in Flight 3 Doubles after falling 8-2 in the championship match.

The Flames will compete next at the ITA Division 1 Regional Championship in Urbana, Illinois, beginning Thursday, Oct. 8, and continuing through Monday, Oct. 12.
