Women’s Basketball Begins Four-Game Road Trip Versus Belmont Friday Night

The Flames and Bruins face-off 6:30 p.m. (CT) at the Curb Event Center.

NASHVILLE, TENN. – The UIC women's basketball team (11-12, 6-6 MVC) embark on a long Missouri Valley Conference four-game road trip starting off Friday night, when they take on Belmont (14-9, 10-2 MVC) at 6:30 p.m. (CT) at the Curb Event Center. 
 
The game will be available to watch on the Valley on ESPN or streamed on ESPN+, Live stats will be on UICFlames.com, and fans interested in attending can purchase their tickets here.

SCOUTING BELMONT
  • Friday's matchup will mark the seventh ever matchup between the Flames and Bruins. UIC hasn't secured a victory over Belmont since their move to the MVC in 2023.
  • In the Bruins' most recent game versus Northern Iowa (11-12, 7-6 MVC), they knocked off the Panthers on the road, 70-58.
  • Paving the way for the win was graduate student Tuti Jones, notching 18 points and four rebounds, going four-for-six from beyond the arc. On the season, she averages 9.9 points per game, shooting 33.9% from the perimeter.
  • Junior guard Jailyn Banks leads the team in scoring all season, averaging 15.9 points per game, paced this game by adding seven assists alongside 14 points and two steals
LAST GAME RECAP – VS EVANSVILLE
  • Taking the lead halfway and never letting go through the first quarter, the Flames too 68-65 at home on Saturday, claiming their seventh straight victory over Evansville.
  • Senior Jessica Carrothers surpassed 2,000 points across all NCAA and NAIA divisions with a bucket with 7:16 left in the third quarter. She led the team in scoring on the day with 18 points.
  • Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman snagged a double-double in the victory, draining 11 points and snagging 10 boards. She added 2 assists, a block, and a steal.That was Coleman's third consecutive double-double on the season and leads the team with five overall.
  • Sophomore TuTu Clayton and senior Amelia Strong each scored nine points in the win.
