CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (10-11, 5-5 MVC) are back at Credit Union 1 Arena Thursday night for more Missouri Valley Conference midweek action, taking on Southern Illinois (6-13, 3-7 MVC) at 7 p.m. (CT).
The game will be streamed on
ESPN+, available to listen to for free on the
Flames Network or through live stats on
UICFlames.com. Fan interested in attending the game can buy their tickets at
Ticketmaster.com. Doors open an hour before first tip.
It will also be our National Girls and Women in Sports Night. Fans in attendance will receive a free replica jersey upon entrance, while supplies last. We will also be recognizing the philanthropic partnership between UIC women's basketball and Dion's Dream; a non-profit organization who combats food insecurity.
Members of UIC Faculty and Staff will also be encouraged to attend the game for free, with valid school ID.
They can get up to nine tickets and must be reserved by the UIC employee.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
- This will be the 21st match-up between the Flames and the Salukis. Southern Illinois leads the overall series, 13-7 but UIC has maintained a 3-2 overall record against the Salukis since joining the MVC.
- Earlier this season, the Salukis got the upper hand, defeating the Flames 63-58 on the road in Carbondale, Ill. back on Jan. 18. Senior Jessica Carrothers led all scorers with 22 points and six rebounds. Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman scored 16 points, five rebounds and five steals in the contest.
- The Salukis last went toe-to-toe with Murray State (19-3, 10-1MVC) on the road last Thursday, falling short to the Racers, 79-75. Sophomore Alayna Kraus led the Salukis in scoring with 23 points and four rebounds.
- Kraus continues to shine for the Salukis, averaging 14.9 points per game, ranking her ninth in the conference. Crashing the boards for Southern Illinois is graduate student Indya Green, averaging 8.3 rebounds per game. That ranks her fifth in the MVC.
LAST GAME RECAP – VS. VALPARAISO
- From opening tip-off, the Flames took the lead and never looked back, defeating Valparaiso 76-57 on Alumni Day.
- Coleman led all scorers with 20 points and 11 rebounds, earning her third double-double of the season.
- Sophomore TuTu Clayton scored 13 points and dished out six assists in the win. The guard has scored double figures in five of her past six games.
- Junior Megen Sanaj hit career highs in points (12), three-pointers made (three), rebounds (five) and minutes played (22) in the win.
- Carrothers netted 12 points in the victory and is now 17 points away from reaching 2,000 career points on both the NCAA and NAIA levels.
