Women’s Basketball Closes Out Three-Game Homestand Against Evansville Saturday

The Flames and Purple Aces face-off in UIC’s #Play4Kay game at 2 p.m. (CT).

CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (10-12, 5-6 MVC) aim to close out its three-game homestand on a winning note as they continue to push through Missouri Valley Conference play, when they host Evansville (6-17, 4-8 MVC) for a 2 p.m. (CT) tip-off Saturday afternoon.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and available to listen to on the Flames Network. Live stats will be accessible at UICFlames.com.

This game will also serve as UIC's #Play4Kay game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as we honor the families, fighters, and survivors impacted by breast cancer. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster.com, with doors opening one hour prior to tip-off.

SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
  • This will be the 23rd match-up between the programs on Saturday, with UIC holding a 12-10 overall lead in the series, winning the past six meetings.
  • In their last meeting, the Flames earned the road victory, defeating Evansville 66-48 at Meeks Family Fieldhouse on Jan. 16. Senior Jessica Carrothers led all scorers with 25 points and five assists. Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman collected a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Evansville looks to maintain momentum after collecting an 83-59 win against Valparaiso (0-23, 0-12 MVC) Thursday night on the road. Sophomore Camyrn Runner led all scorers with 22 points, being one of four Purple Aces to hit double figures in the victory.
  • After earning MVC Freshman of the Year a season ago, Runner continues to shine for Evansville, leading in points (17.3 PPG), assists (5.3 APG) and steals (1.7 SPG) this season.
LAST GAME RECAP – VS. SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
  • After erasing a 19-point deficit entering the fourth quarter, the Flames fell short in a buzzer-beating defeat against Southern Illinois (7-13, 4-7 MVC), 55-53 at Credit Union 1 Arena Thursday night.
  • Coleman earned her fourth double-double of the season, leading all scorers with 20 points, 13 rebounds and four steals.
  • Sophomore TuTu Clayton reach double figures for the sixth consecutive game, scoring 12 points, dished out three assists and stole the ball twice.
  • Carrothers netted six points and collected four assists in the contest. The guard is now 11 points away from reaching 2,000 career points during her time on both the NCAA and NAIA levels.
