CHICAGO - The UIC women's tennis is back in action this weekend after having the past week off from competition. The Flames head into the weekend at 2-1, and are winners of their last two matches. Toledo is currently undefeated with a record of 3-0, Notre Dame is also off to a strong start holding a record of 6-1. The two weekend matches continue a run of quality opponents to start the season for the Flames.
UIC welcomes Toledo into XS Tennis Village on Saturday evening at 4:00 PM. The Flames defeated the Rockets last season 4-3, a match that saw Sophomores Edit Cosmo and Marta Halbersztadt win their respective singles matches and their No. 2 doubles match together.
The Flames then hit the road to South Bend to take on Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon. This match will serve as a rematch of the first round of the 2025 NCAA tournament. A match where all singles matches were competitive before the Fighting Irish clinched the match.
QUOTE FROM COACH LUMPKIN ROBINSON:
"We are excited for a tough weekend of competition coming up. We look forward to building on a strong start to the season and using the lessons we learned last week. This will be a great opportunity to build and grow as a team together. "
