Women’s Basketball Hosts Murray State in Thursday Night Clash

Tip-off against the Racers is slated for 7 p.m. (CT).

CHICAGO – After spending the past five-of-six Missouri Valley Conference games on the road, the UIC women's basketball team (14-15, 9-9 MVC) returns to Credit Union 1 Arena Thursday night, hosting Murray State (26-3, 17-1 MVC) for a. 7 p.m. (CT) tip-off.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ or listened to on the Flames Network for free. Live stats will be available at UICFlames.com. Fans interested in attending the game can buy tickets at TicketMaster.com. Doors open an hour before tip-off.

SCOUTING MURRAY STATE
  • This will be the ninth match-up between the programs, with the Racers maintaining a 6-2 lead in the overall series.
  • In their last meeting, the Flames erased an 18-point deficit to tie it up with 23 seconds, before falling to back-to-back free throws in the final seconds to lose to Murray State, 79-77 on Feb. 15. Senior Jessica Carrrothers led UIC in scoring with 21 points, three rebounds and three steals.
  • The Racers recently clinched its second consecutive Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship with a 99-80 victory over Evansville (7-22, 5-13 MVC) at home Saturday.
  • The scoring junior duo of Halli Poock (21.8 PPG) and Sharnecce Currie-Jelks (18.4 PPG) continue to lead the Racer's attack, as Murray State sets a program record 26th win against the Purple Aces over the weekend.
LAST GAME RECAP – AT UNI
  • In their final MVC road game of conference play, the Flames fell short to UNI (15-13, 11-7 MVC) at the McLeod Center, 82-68 Saturday afternoon.
  • Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman led UIC in scoring with 18 points and four rebounds. The forward has scored in double figures in her 13th consecutive game in a row.
  • Carrothers scored 12 of her 14 points in the second half, dishing a team-high six assists in the contest.
  • Senior Amelia Strong continued to be a steady presence off the bench, scoring 12 points and grabbing a team-leading seven rebounds.
