CHICAGO - The UIC women's tennis team (12-6, 5-0 MVC) continued their perfect start to Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play when they beat Belmont 7-0 on Saturday and Murray State 4-3 on Sunday. The Flames were dominant against the Bruins on Saturday. After winning the doubles point, UIC won all six singles matches, dropping a total of one set. Marta Halbersztadt and Nia Cooper were among the Flames to win on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Flames had to rally to come up with their sixth straight win. After dropping the doubles point, and facing a 3-1 deficit the Flames rattled off three straight victories all in three set matches to clinch the match. Marta Halbersztadt, Anais Brion, and Dongke Liu all won in tie breaking third sets. Halbersztadt, saved multiple match points en route to clinching the comeback victory for the Flames.

UIC is back in action with a pair of home matches this weekend against Northern Iowa on Saturday and Drake on Sunday.
